Tsh over at Simple Mom is hosting Project Simplify - four weeks of simplifying different areas of our homes or lives. This week is dedicated to drawers and shelves and I think you'll probably agree that this drawer could use some simplifying!
That's my kitchen junk drawer. Actually, to be honest, it's one of them - there are about three. But this is one that I open every day and every time I get aggravated about not being able to find something or having to dig through random junk to find what I need.
So I decided this was going to be my focus. It only took me about 15 minutes (as I drew heavily upon Yvonne's method of Spring cleaning - purging!) and I ended up with this:
There are no longer bibs and squeeze bottles that we don't use, random arts and crafts supplies have been moved back to their proper places, the paper scraps that I use for notes have been corralled into an old thank you card box with a paper weight I love holding them into place, items that I don't really want to kids to reach for like scissors have been relegated to the back, and the wooden cutting board that I use at least 10 times a day is front and center.
One neat drawer seems like such a small thing but not experiencing that fleeting frustration repeatedly during a day can make all the difference in my attitude.
The theme of Project Simplify this week is drawers and shelves - do you have any that you'd like to tackle?
